Chris Reckmeyer, Esq.

Managing Partner | CEO

Attorney Chris Reckmeyer is the Managing Partner at Reckmeyer & Reckmeyer, Law. Chris is a graduate from the University of New Hampshire, where he obtained a dual degree in Finance and Economics. Chris was an eight-time recipient of the University Dean’s List Award and received the University Scholar Award for his four-year academic performance.

Chris graduated from New England Law | Boston, where he was awarded the New England Scholar Award. Chris was admitted into the Sandra Day O’Connor Honors Program after exceptional academic performance during law school. Chris was a three-time recipient of the CALI Award for Excellence in Real Estate Transactions, Labor Law, and Products Liability, which is given to the student who obtained the highest-grade point average in the class. Furthermore, Chris was a four-time recipient of New England Law | Boston Dean’s List Award.

Chris has proudly served in the Connecticut Army National Guard since 2014, where he is a Captain. Chris deployed to Ferizaj, Kosovo in 2021 with the 1-169 AVN Battalion where he received numerous awards. Chris also obtained advanced schooling in Human Resources as an Adjutant General at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Michelle Reckmeyer, Juris Doctor

Chief Operating Officer | COO

Michelle Reckmeyer is the Chief Operating Officer of Reckmeyer and Reckmeyer, Law.  She received her law degree from New England Law | Boston in 2018. During her time in law school, Michelle participated in several programs including her school’s Business Law Society and the Massachusetts Municipal Lawyers Association. 

Michelle also participated in her law school’s Summer Fellowship Program as well as Boston’s Volunteer Lawyers Project. Michelle was a recipient of New England Law | Boston Dean’s List Award. 

After law school, Michelle performed several Judicial clerkships for Judges and Magistrates at Connecticut’s Superior Court. Most notably, Michelle fulfilled a clerkship for the Honorable Daniel J. Klau. Furthermore, Michelle has extensive experience in Property Law, Mediation, Negotiations, Family Law, and Bankruptcy Law as it relates to foreclosures.

Michelle’s primary focus at the firm is company growth and expansion, as well as business development. Her secondary focus is marketing, advertising, and case flow coordination. She oversees daily operations and ensures quality control for the firm’s legal documents and products. She develops and executes strategies for client retention, growth, and employee engagement. Michelle’s vision is to have an innovative and efficient business plan that allows for quality legal services to be offered for affordable prices. Michelle demonstrates leadership and an intuition for business building that is valuable to the clients of Reckmeyer & Reckmeyer, Law.

Herb Reckmeyer, Esq.

Senior Partner

Attorney Herb Reckmeyer is the Senior Partner at Reckmeyer & Reckmeyer, Law. Herb is a graduate from Syracuse University, were he obtained a dual degree in Management and Finance. Upon graduating with University Honors, Herb was admitted to Syracuse University College of Law in 1985. While he was in Law School, Herb became a property manager of over 300 units in upstate New York.

Herb graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 1988 and became an assisant clerk of the Harford Housing Court from 1989-1993. After he completed his time with the Hartford Housing Court, he became an associate representing numerous Housing Authorities across Connecticut from 1993-1997. Herb opened his own sole proprietorship in 1997 before his practice became Reckmeyer & Reckmeyer, Law. Herb was a member of the West Hartford Housing Authority Board from 1997-1998 and was a former attorney for the Connecticut Property Owners Association from 1997-2000.

Matthew J. Fratamico, Esq.

Associate

Matthew Fratamico is a Litigator for Reckmeyer and Reckmeyer, Law. Matthew graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with a concentration in Corporate and Regulatory Compliance. During Matthew’s time at UCONN Law, Matthew was a recipient of the School Merit Scholarship as well as the Law School Foundation Scholarship.

Matthew was a Representative for UCONN Law’s Student Bar Association and an active participant in their Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Society. Additionally, he was the research editor for the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal.

Matthew comes to Reckmeyer & Reckmeyer with professional experience in handling a variety of landlord legal issues including tenant matters, ensuring real estate compliance with local, state and federal law, LLC formation, in addition to resolving title disputes. Matthew is a valued member of Reckmeyer and Reckmeyer Law whose primary focus is the court phase in each case. Matthew’s prior experience provides relevant expertise in negotiations and creating stipulations that benefit our clients.

Anthea Croghan, B.A.

Executive Assistant

Anthea Croghan is an Executive Assistant at Reckmeyer and Reckmeyer Law. Anthea graduated from Loyola University with a bachelor’s degree in literature and demonstrates exceptional editing and writing skills. Anthea is a highly committed administrative professional with a passion for organization and precision. Anthea’s administrative support allows the firm to produce and execute cases at exceptional speed, resulting in sustained client satisfaction and retention.

Eric Rothman, Esq. 

Associate

Eric Rothman is a Litigator for Reckmeyer and Reckmeyer, Law.  He graduated with honors from Drew University in 2006.  He received his law degree from Roger Williams School of Law in 2009, and his LLM in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law in 2010.  Eric’s role at the firm is to successfully facilitate stipulations in which the tenant moves out and pays off their balance as quickly as possible. Eric’s negotiation style is direct and to the point, which allows clients of R&R to recuperate lost rent. 

Eric began his legal career clerking for the Superior Court of Tolland County where he clerked for housing, family and various civil matters.  He has worked in private practice in the fields of personal injury, workers’ compensation, family law and probate matters, where he honed his skills in litigation, negotiation and legal research. Eric’s prior experience as a clerk allows for a unique perspective towards the eviction process. Additionally, Eric’s extensive trial experience and stern negotiation style greatly benefits the clients of R&R. 

Eric is admitted to practice in the states of Connecticut and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.  Attorney Rothman is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association. Eric is a well rounded, experienced Attorney that enhances the success of R&R. 

Damon Rummel, Esq.

Associate

Damon Rummel is a Litigator for Reckmeyer and Reckmeyer, Law.  He received his law degree from Western New England School of Law in 2018. Damon’s role at the firm is to successfully facilitate stipulations in which the tenant moves out and pays off their balance as quickly as possible. 

Damon began his legal career as an Assistant Clerk for the Judicial Branch. He was quickly promoted to Deputy Chief Clerk after exceptional performance. Damon has experience in family, housing and various civil matters.  Damon’s extensive experience at the Judicial Branch provides our clients expertise in the housing process. He has significant experience and understanding of the docket and the overall Judicial Branch requirements and systems. 

Damon is admitted to practice in the state of Connecticut and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.
